Fu is dry baked wheat gluten, and this Kakufu, or rectangular fu, is made with carefully-selected ingredients and the product of a manufacturing process undertaken with real devotion. Before use, it needs to be soaked carefully in water, before being gently squeezed to release excess liquid. It develops a great flavor when added to a variety of recipes, such as clear suimono soup, miso soup, vegetables mixed with mustard, and sukiyaki. Try it out!
